Five runners after the Kielder 10k in 2022.

Three generations take on Kielder 10k

For the second year in a row, a family from Hawarden, North Wales will have three generations running together in Kielder’s 10k race on Sunday 17th September.

The Taylors, Bob (77, in orange), Richard (50, far right), and Jack (16, far left) will be taking on Britain’s Most Beautiful in an annual family tradition since 2014. At the beginning, Richard and his dad, Bob, ran together, but over the years many of their cousins and friends also got involved. Last year was his son, Jack’s, first time.

Jack also managed to beat the rest of the family in his debut Kielder 10k, despite not training at all for the event. He completed the race in under an hour, and is hoping to beat his dad and grandad again next Sunday. “This year I’ve said that if he beats me I’ll give him £50. This is an incentive for me to train harder…” said Richard.

We wish all three of you the best of luck for next weekend and look forward to an interesting competition for the fastest Taylor!
