Ambassador blog – Alison Robinson
So, the situation has changed a lot since the last BLOG as the globe has succumbed to this awful virus.
Thankfully we can still get out for running but the mileage has been curtailed as restrictions on the time we are allowed to be out for exercise have come into force.
I was lucky enough to start the month of March in a ‘free’ running environment and completed the very beautiful Anglesey half marathon, which had a ‘new’ route due to the severe weather that had brought down trees! (yes, wind and flooding – that did happen).
I also managed another race (off road) in the Cotswold, which was just shy of 15 miles; hard but so rewarding.
I am now socially distancing so just my partner for running company these day, but I live in Gloucestershire so I am able to get straight out on those hills and into woodland.
Most of my races have been cancelled now, so I had anticipated that the wonderful Kielder marathon could be my 100th marathon , this will not happen – but it won’t take away from the splendor of the event and that phenomenal route.
At this time as we are unsure what the next few months hold – but we have hope and aspirations to achieve more. Indeed our amazing running community continually inspire with messages and innovative ways to communicate/keep fit.
Running will help to keep our minds and bodies well during these unprecedented times – and make the goal of Kielder marathon all the more sweet.
Keep going all!!
